Dr. Maria Montessori believed that no human being is educated by another person.
Therefore the goal of our curriculum is to cultivate the child's own natural
desire to learn. Through a carefully designed program, complete with Montessori
materials, the child is motivated from within by a natural curiosity and love for
knowledge. Ideally, the child will complete a minimum three year program
in the Montessori Preschool Program. The Montessori Method provides a basis for
individualized learning activities appropriate for even the earilest stages of a
childs development and it is highly recommended to enroll children as early as
possible so that total benefits from the enriched environmentscan be reached.
The Purpose of the Toddler Program is to encourage, assist and protect
the normal development of each child while providing an environment which respects,
supports and responds to their basic needs for independence, and exploration. Our
Toddlers learn important social, development and basic academic skills which serve
as prerequisites t to our Preschool Program. Circle Time, Montessori Work Cycles,
Spanish Classes, Music, Counting, Phonics, Language Development and Storytime provide
our Toddlers with a wealth of challenging and stimulating learning experiences which
prepare them for more advanced exercises in the Preschool program.
The Purpose of the Preschool Program is two-fold:
1. |
To allow each child to experience the excitement of
learning by providing a wealth of attractive materials and exercises which encourage
and stimulate curiosity.
|
2. |
To help the child perfect his or her natural tools for
learning so that the child's abilities will be maximized for future learning situations.
|
The Montessori materials have a dual long-range purpose in addition to their
immediate purpose of giving specific information to the child. In essence, the
carefully "prepared classroom" environments comprose the cirriculum.
The Kindergarten Year is considered of Fruition and is most likely one of the
most important as well as dramatic in terms of witnessing a "learning explosion". It is
the year when all of the concepts learned, practiced and mastered come together in the
child's mind. In addition to valuable leadership roles, the Montessori Kindergarten Student
acquires academic abilities at an accelerated rate as concepts that were once abstract
become more concrete. Out Kidergarten Program complements the Preschool Program by giving
clarity to each subject area including Math, Reading, Writing, Geometry, History, Social
Studies, Natural and General Sciences, Foreign Laguages and more.
The Montessori Program is the best investment in your child's future and provides a Private
School Education in a non-competitve, non-judgemental atmosphere. Students are not grouped
by abilities or tracked into highly competitive and structured classroom atmospheres as they
are in traditional or other private Schools. Montessori Students become responsible, creative,
independant and confident problem-solvers who develop all the necessary skills and more for a
lifetime of successful educational experiences.
